She is hardly sitting with her feet up!! She has just moved to Mt. Airy, NC, which is the birthplace of Andy Griffith and supposedly the town that the fictional "mayberry" is based on. I just read in the paper about some fund-raising she is participating in for the local community theater. Check it out:
MOUNT AIRY — The Surry Arts Council 2007-2008 Fund Drive kicked off on Thursday on the stage of the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Over 50 volunteers turned out to ensure that the arts remain a significant part of the community.
Swanson Snow and Page Woltz, co-chairs the arts council fund drive, informed those present of the $160,000 goal and the value of keeping the arts alive. To date, more than $50,000 has been raised through the preliminary work of the fund drive chairmen and volunteers, Tanya Jones executive director of the Arts Council said.
..............
The Arts Council’s Golden Notes, directed by Charles Vaughn, provided entertainment. Actress Betty Lynn is serving as the honorary chairman of the Arts Council fund drive. Lynn spoke regarding her connection with the Surry Arts Council and how her visits to Mayberry Days were her first contact with Mount Airy — where she has now retired.
She offered assistance to volunteers in their efforts to raise funds for the Surry Arts Council.
