The Kingdom of Egypt was the first modern Egyptian state, lasting from 1922 to 1953.
The kingdom was created in 1922 when the British granted independence to Egypt, a de facto colony, in order to suppress growing nationalism. Sultan Fuad I became the first king of the new state. Farouk succeeded his father as king in 1936.
The kingdom was plagued by corruption and its citizens saw it as a puppet of the British. This, coupled with the defeat in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, led to a 1952 coup by a group of army officers called the Free Officers Movement. Farouk abdicated in favour of his infant son Fuad II. However, in 1953 the monarchy was formally abolished and the Arab Republic of Egypt was established.

Egypt was originally many tribes of people living along the Nile river. As time went on the built houses, and then cities. Finally they started to put the best leaders over many cities, and a kingdom started to form. Wars between cities took place, and there were two Egypt's left. A unified kingdom arose circa 3200 B.C. and a series of dynasties ruled in Egypt for the next three millennia. The last native dynasty fell to the Persians in 341 B.C., who in turn were replaced by the Greeks, Romans, and Byzantines. It was the Arabs who introduced Islam and the Arabic language in the 7th century and who ruled for the next six centuries. A local military caste, the Mamluks took control about 1250 and continued to govern after the conquest of Egypt by the Ottoman Turks in 1517. Following the completion of the Suez Canal in 1869, Egypt became an important world transportation hub, but also fell heavily into debt. Ostensibly to protect its investments, Britain seized control of Egypt's government in 1882, but nominal allegiance to the Ottoman Empire continued until 1914. Partially independent from the UK in 1922, Egypt acquired full sovereignty following World War II.

Egypt was colonized as far back as 3000 BCE along the Nile River. What era are you referring to? It was polytheistic in religion and ran by the pharoh, who was both king and god.

it was taken over my Alexander the great. The in a couple thousand years, after the Roman Empire Fell, the Ottoman Empire was in control of it, until that empire fell and it became a country. Not sure about the years though.
