In a nutshell, Richard the third was born on 2nd October 1452. After the death of his brother Edward the fourth, Richard governed for Edward's son, Edward the fifth, with the title 'Lord protector'. He placed Edward and his brother Richard in the Tower (The Princes in the Tower allegedly murdered by Richard 3rd) and acquired the throne for himself. he was crowned on 6th July 1483. In 1485 a rebellion arose against Richard headed by Henry Tudor (Henry 5th) and his uncle Jasper. They landed troops and Richard fell in the Battle of Bosworth Field. Bosworth field was formerly known as Dadlington field or Redemore field. He was the last Plantaganet King and the last English King to die in battle. This is too complicated a subject to answer except as an essay!
Kate J is right, best to check out a web site and extract the bits she needs. The most interesting aspect of all is who killed th princes in the tower. The Duke of Buckingham is a strong contender (without Richard's knowledge) and obviously Henry Vll who killed off all the remaining Plantagenet heirs except Elizabeth of York whom he married. It's a fascinating period of history if you relly get into it, full of colourful characters and baddies galore.

When my 11 year old sat her SATS last year she found it helpful to look at old SAT papers. We also used Bonds study books, and if I'm not mistaken you can down load a free sample of SAT papers from the Bonds web site. Good luck to your daughter.

I suggest buying the video. I know someone doing exactly the same thing, shes scared to go to english classes!! I told her to get the video and she completely understands it now! (even though she is still scared of english lessons!)

She'll do fine, dont worry - shakespear is hard. Does she by any chance go to CCHS. The girl i know does!
