Good luck - when I have done that in the past it is important not to get too drunk in case you say something you shouldn't!!

Good Luck - careful not to drink - so as not to say anything bad. Show up late and leave early if you can get away with it without any problems. It's only for a few hours, keep an open mind, maybe you will end up having fun anyway. Take Care and be Nice.

Duty or not, do not put yourself on a plane you are not comfortable and secure with. Surround yourself with those who truly like you and want to be around you and vice verse.

I wouldn't waste my precious time spending a night out with people, for whatever reason get on my nerves. Life is too short.

Been there, done that. I'd say that since you HAVE to be there, I'd just smile, nod politely, be patient and deal with it. I know it's a real bore having to be with those people but it is what it is.
