I'll answer this from a different angle. Hate can lead to good things if we move to be different from what we hate. Subjective hatred is just a cesspool of negative feelings and attitudes...a bit like a nasty infection. But when we make hatred objective we can direct it specifically toward things that we need to act against. This kind of hatred can lead to solving problems and protecting what we value.
Imagine a world where no one hated and stood against child molestation, murder, rape, etc.
I talked with a teenage boy once who was cutting himself. His home life was hellish. I told him he could call anytime he needed help or he could live with my family. I hate that...I hate it when children suffer because the adults in their life mistreat them. I had a "safe" place to go when I was young and my home now is that for other children that my kids befriend. That's a good end to hate.

Fear and anger are similar emotions. They often intertwine each other but the fear usually leads to anger because the anger leads to action in order to eliminate the possibility of the fear becoming reality. Once anger sets in, it leads to suffering either due to revenge against an act caused by anger or it leads to suffering because negative emotions are by themselves cause suffering inside those who have it. People often do not realize that when one suffers due to anger, it is poison for the spirit. It eliminates happiness, hope, and love. Without which, no kindness can grow or exist. But there are other emotions which have this pattern: lust, envy, confusion, loss of control, and the like. We must strive to make it evident to ourselves exactly when we experience these things or we shall surely become victims of those things which can destroy us at the hands of another or worse, by our own hands.

avoidance or indifference. It doesn't have to go to the hate stage. Fear or anger will do. Fear or anger can also lead to resentments which can turn to self destruction. just my soap box.

Suffering.

In so many ways. The people hurt suffer and believe it or not, the people doing the hurting suffer as well. Just not in the same ways, and usually not at the same time.

I'm afraid that I prefer to get rid of them before they can make me - or anyone else - suffer though - I find that I can deal with the suffering I have to accept better than I can deal with the suffering hate filled angy idiots cause.

Usually violence. But with me, it leads to a few moments of bad language, then I get distracted by a donut or something and my world is good again. :)
