Have you worked for Dillards? If you did, did you find it a sweat shop of slave labor. I worked for them in Texas for about 6 months and they always threaten to cut your pay and threaten to fire you if you have to go home cause you are so sick that you are running a fever. If you call in sick they want a doctors note with the reason you are sick so if you have a std you have to put that on your note, and I got into so many arguments with management telling them it is none of their business what is wrong with someone when they are out sick and in my opinion it is against hippa laws and the add laws to force an emloyee to put the reason on the doctors note. If you don't put the reason on the note it is an unexcused absince. I am just waiting for something serious to happen to an employee someday who is so sick and at work because they don't have the money of health insurance to go to the doctor. I just wish the employees of Dillards would do a civil law suit against the company.

Yep, 2 very short months.
Worked in the women's dept. Pay started out at 14.27 an hour, I thought it was great. Found out after I got my first check, that if you don't meet a certain sales quota, they knock your pay down. When I quit, I was making 8.25 hour.

I had many many many other things happen and I filed a formal compalint with the Better Business Bureau.

No I have never worked for Dillard's but once when I was in the one in the galleria area there was this woman giving this elderly lady an interview like 8 feet away and I thought the questions she was asking her were not common or appropriate in an interview .The interviewer did say something about "mandatory quota or else".I know the interviewer could see me and she was saying things like "Make sure you get their phone number so you can call the customer back weekly and ask why they haven't been to the store and all kind of other stuff.I end up buying a sofa with a very friendly sales person named Ernest .But I did think the interviewer was not professional at all .

Unfortunately, it's not against hipa laws.

I have several friends who have worked for Dillards and all of them say it's a horrible place to work. These are responsible, hard working adults who say that management is just completely out of touch with its employees and put incredible pressure to perform, sell and get people to sign up for their credit card. I was going to work for them for the Christmas season and had several people tell me I would have to sell my soul to work for them.

Nope, I never worked for them but I know what your talking about. My other job was exactly like that, so I threw my shirt at them and quit.
