There are no pre-reqs to psych. You can take intro to psych your freshman year. I was a psych major at UGA and even as a psych major you had to take a minimal amount of math. You can even exempt out of the math if you place above math modeling at most universities. For sciences, I just had to take Biology 1 and 2 with labs and then one science without a lab. I really enjoyed my psych classes and definitely recommend taking at least a few even if you don't major in it.

Psych can be done as any other undergrad program.

Im not sure if it is a BA or BS .

However if you want to have practicing rights, you must have a MA or a MS (?). But only to a limited scope or things you can do.

You you get a Phd or the other Psy.d you can have full practice rights. Im pretty sure about the Phd but not sure about the Psy.d. acronym.

You have to fulfill your general education reqs for the college though, which may have some basic math.

Note that Psychology is different from psychiatry. Psychiatry--need to be a MD or a DO.

I hope this helps.

If you only want to take the introductory psychology class, it most likely won't have any prerequisites. If you want to major in psychology, you might have to take statistics and some biology classes. A BS degree will require more of these extra science classes than a BA degree.

It really depends on which psychology course you want to take. For the introduction class, there usually is no prereq. For any additional psych class, you may be required to take the intro course first.

I took the intro class and loved it, so I ended up minoring in psychology.

You can take the Intro or "101" course probably your first semester in college. The higher level courses might require you to take other courses first. I took a couple of courses, the ones with good professors are always better.

none really. you may be required to take a stats class to get in an upper level course but that's it.
