Fold up a paper towel in quarters. Place the paper towel over the wax. Gently, so as not to scratch the table, run a clothing iron (medium heat) over the towel. It will melt the wax and soak it into the towel. To remove the residue use rubbing alcohol or something that will not harm the finish of your table. Orange oil usually works well.

One method is to allow the wax to dry before using a non-abrasive spatula for its removal. But first, place an ice cube on the wax so it will begin to flake away.

Another method is to scrape the warm wax from the surface with a non-abrasive spatula and continue the process until all the wax is removed.

I recommend the first suggestion.

cover it with ice till wax gets brittle then pick it off
