Just as long as you meet the residency requirements of Indiana, you can file there and go to court there, otherwise youll have to go back to Washington. Hopefully you have some kind of legal document giving you temporary custody from her father. It sounds like he is ready to sign her over to you anyhow so there should be no problem here. As her mother with physical custody of her you have all the rights a mother can have. You may have trouble getting child support out of him though. Good luck

Unfortunately, the case remains where it starts at, you can file a motion for legal joint custody. Be Blessed!

You did have a right to her when you gave birth to her! Did you give custody to her dad? If so, it is your fault. If you are sure you want to take care of her for the rest of her life and want her to be yours legally...you need to contact a lawyer.

I am not aware of the laws. I do know, that you need to get all the info you need for your daughter's sake. It sounds like she has been bounced around a lot and that has to stop. Call any lawyer and get the info you need.

That's a hard one. I would see if you could find a lawyer that deals with custody cases, one that has a free consultation.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS GO TO YOUR LOCAL DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE AND FILE FOR TEMP CUSTODY AND IF IT HAS BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS HE HAS NOT SEEN HER YOU CAN GET HIS PARENTAL RIGHTS ABOLISHED AND YOU COULD GET LEGAL CUSTODY
