A computer's RAM, or Random Access Memory, is the memory your computer uses to open files in wep pages and documents, or run any open windows. Your total ram is how much your PC began with. This can be found by typing dxdiag.exe into the run option on your start menu. There are programs that can be used to display your current ram and free some extra. I use one of these. It is called Cyberlat Ram Cleaner, and can be found on download.com. Hope i've been a help.

Stands for "Ram Access Memory". It is the memory hardware that your computer uses for running programs. When you turn on your computer, Windows is loaded from the hard drive into the RAM memory and actually run from there. It is also where new files are created and kept until you save them to your hard drive. Unlike your hard drive, anything in the RAM memory is cleared whenever you turn off or reboot the computer.

Random access memory (usually known by its acronym, RAM) is a type of data storage used in computers. It takes the form of integrated circuits that allow the stored data to be accessed in any order — that is, at random and without the physical movement of the storage medium or a physical reading head.
