Was an accident before Xmas 06 hitting the glass coffee table edge and cut his lip sharp and long. Is it really still too young now (18-m) for doing anything?.... Any real good practical and tried treatment? He is even quite over-reacted and too scared to show doctors the wound after months of the accident. So doctors could hardly examin the scar. It is actually almost 2 cm long (0.5cm on lower lip and 1.5cm on face) Im so so upset and worried.

Seriously if your son is nursing you should but breast milk on the scar.

In A LaLecheLeuge meeting I went to there was a mother there and her son had surgery for a cleft lip and had a large scar. She rubbed breast milk on it 2-3 times a day and it was barley visable a few months later. Not long after my son bumped his head and got a scar. I tested it and rubbed breast milk on it regularly and his scar faded totally. No vitamin or lotio has as many vitamins and nutrients, It REALLY works.

If the mother is not nursing I would suggest Mederma, it is expensive but works great.

some people don't heal as fast as others. For me it takes a simple cat scratch months to heal, but I never get scars. I have about 3 scars on my whole body, and was a very active kid. One thing that I have heard positive things about is vitamin e oil, or a lotion containing lots of vitamin e. that will help make the scar fade. It worked wonders on my stretch marks!

It's nothing you're doing right or wrong. It happens at different ages. I was curious, but not worried, cuz my daughter had no teeth at that age either. The doctor wasn't concerned at all, she said she never met a child who didn't get their teeth in. Finally, at the age of 14 months, my daughter got her first two teeth in. Everyone I talked to at the time had never experienced or heard of that, but many people I've seen on here have. So it's not as uncommon as you may think.
