If she is this way, why do you think she is a friend at all? You have a choice to make as to whether or not to put up with abusive behavior or not, but if you don't stand up to your "friend" now, you are likely to become a doormat your entire life and I am sure you do not want that. The choice is up to you.

You should find a new friend. It is alright if you don't want a new friend but you must think of the consequences of being friends with this girl and what is best for you. If she is mean and violent to you she does not consider you her best friend because you don't treat your best friend that way. When other people see you around such a mean person they will think you are like her and might not want to be around you. If she is weird, crazy, and violent she might be involved with drugs. Sometimes if you let people know they can't treat you badly they will stop so let her know you have given the friendship some thought and it is not working out and it must change course if you are to remain friends. It sounds like by your question you already know this friendship is not good for you and you need to do what is best for you. Please surround yourself with people that treat you well we all deserve that and if your friend can't treat you well she does not deserve you as her best friend.

This doesn't sound like a very good best friend to me. If one of my best friends ever starting being violent toward me I would seriously reconsider this friendship. If you are sure she won't hurt you talk to her and tell her how you feel. Maybe she will back down a little. If not, maybe she isn't really the kind of person you want to hang out with.

Then blow up at her back! Get mean back! If she wants to get violent, dont go that route unless you black out and dont remember and you are like, so pissed that you cant look at her for another second without punching her in the nose. She is not your best friend if you are saying 'HELP!!!' So i suggest finding out what the problem is, and whether or not you even get THAT far, I think you should just........find a new friend.
