If you have an electric sander than use that. But a couple small tears on the butt pockets. DO NOT PUT HOLES IN THE KNEES! The holes will rip very easily. Then you will make the jeans look like trash. And if you want to add a couple sprays of white for added flair then put a about 2 tbs of bleach and 1/4 cup of water in a spray bottle (like an empty Windex bottle) and spray lightly over the desired area. Don't spray too much though. It takes a while for the color to show. Do it in a sunny area so it dries faster. Then when it's dry and if you still want more then add. Be careful though, you dont want too much!

The knees are the best place to rip jeans, along with the back pockets, and a little below your pockets, on the front, on one side. Don't rip where you can see your underwear----WAY too trashy. And also, don't go overboard on the ripping----I ripped a pair of my favorite jeans and it looked very hickish. The holes shouldn't be too big---try taking a razor (NOT A SHAVING RAZOR) and rubbing it against the part you want to rip. I will thin the jeans out, and eventually leave a hole with the thread and parts of jeans still covering it. Also, you can look up Target's store online and see some of their Mossimo jeans, ripped. It should give you a good idea on where and what style you want to rip!

The best place to rip your jeans is on the knees. Cut with a fabric scissors a little bit on the front knee (make sure not to cut through the back) and then continue the cut straight across the knee. It will fray by itself.

Dont rip these! they look fine the way they are. I would say wait a few more months maybe and they'll rip on their own. Jeans look better naturally ripped.

i had the same problem!!! okay here's what i did.

take some nail clippers to start the fraying, and then scrape a rock across to make the hole bigger.

where to put the holes:

right thigh, left knee, fray the bottom, and if you're really courageous do one of your back pockets.

try putting them on and mark where you'd like them to be faded, ripped, or whatever. get sandpaper and put some bleach on it. then rub the jeans with the sandpaper until they look how you want them to.

use a soft sandpaper to create your own wash, and scrape it against the denim
