Don't get me wrong, I myself am not a big fan of most of it, but I will listen to some of the songs occasionally. For the most, it's good music.

Actually, country is 99% of what I listen to. They must be doing something right because country is the only genre of music which has grown (in terms of number of radio stations playing it) over the last five years. Musically, it's great because the music comes entirely from instruments, not artificial noisemakers. And lyrically, it's about real life without preaching violence, promiscuity, or racism. There have never been any cases of somebody going on a killing spree or something like that after listening to a George Strait or Rascal Flatts CD (though rap, heavy metal, and punk rock seem to have had that effect on some people).

You wouldn't think I like country music, but I do. I just love the older stuff...I could listen to Waylon Jennings all the time.
Not everyone hates country music. I live in Kentucky and here, that is the music of choice...

It's like my favorite kind of music.I think the reason people don't like it is because it's not cool in their book or it's to depressing.But if they would listen to it for more than 5 seconds they would see it's really good.The older stuff is the best though like Johnny Cash,Waylon Jennings,Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline.Some of the new people like Brad Paisley,Carrie Underwood,Taylor Swift and Little Big Town are all really good. :)

I cannot stand country music personally. It is too twangy and lyrically . . .not that great. It seems to be about all the same stuff. I do like the Dixie Chicks however, because they have something to say when they write.

Because most people dont listen to it they dont know how good it is!!! Most people think its all cowboys and banjos but really its not!!! I love country I wish other people did too!

Maybe it's to redneck for some people. I love country music though and love to hear them sing redneckish.

i asked the same question i love it and theirs still good ol' boys and girls who like it just a bunch of yankees dont cuz it aint about pimping i love it although some of the newer stuff sukz i love the older guys n it though

I think it's the genre you need to be brought up with to appreciate. Otherwise it just sound like out of tune guitars and violins.
