also I am not asking how ethical it is, just want to know if theatre will let 17 year old buy 2 tickets

hmmm. it depends on where you go. some do and some dont check for an id

No, the ones by me won't let anyone buy more than one rated R ticket without the other person present with ID. You can get your parents to buy them for you, but it would be easier to just buy tickets for another movie starting around the same time, but just go into the movie you want when you are past the ticket taker.

It depends, many times of the person selling the tickets might just give them to you. Or if they are a stickler they might want to see the ids of the persons your purchasing the tickets for. I think the older you get though the less likely that is to occur.

They enforce those rules at our local theatres. My first job was an usher at a movie theatre. The best part of the job was finding the 14 year old kids who had snuck in to movies that they should'nt have been in. Good fun, and completely embarassed them when you walk up to them witha flashlight in a dark theater. A lot of times people would applaud too.!

I was 20 and they wouldn't sell them to me because I forgot my ID. But it all depends on the person at the window, they may not care.
