I hate them headaches. My head just pounds and pounds. Two tylenols and a snack or lunch do the trick. But it ususally takes a while. theres nothing else really to do. Good Luck!

I started getting headaches in the 2nd trimester, too. I tried everything ppl suggested from snacking throughout the day, napping, massages, etc., but nothing helped. Finally my doctor prescribed tylenol 3, which is tylenol with a small dosage of codeine. It has helped the best. So, if it gets that bad for you ask your dr. about tylenol 3. Otherwise, you can always go to the hospital, which is something I've had to do also. They can give you an injection for the pain if it has persisted for a few days with no relief. Good luck. I know it is horrible pain to deal with. I'm at 25 weeks and still have the headaches.

Possibly too much sugar in your diet, or not enough water. Low blood pressure is normal during pregnancy but sometimes mine goes super low and I get headaches. Also stay away from caffeine, it's not goof for you or the baby whilst pregnant, and breast feeding if you want the bub to sleep. Most peoples harsh pregnancy symptoms go away after the 1st trimester, but others got into the 2nd and some into the 3rd, so I wouldn't worry. You can dreink gatorade and water to dehydrate you, also go get a blood test with your doctor and check your vitamins, minerals etc are all right For the pain you can take tylanol its the one international drug, that has been approved for pregnant women with headaches and fever :) Best of luck!

I had those all the time. You should be having this conversation with your Dr. to rule out high blood pressure and to see if there is anything he/she can prescribe or recommend.
Nothing but long baths, eating small meals several times a day and avoiding any caffeine helped me. Dont wait too long between meals or you can get a bad headache. Prenatal massage is the BEST! You can even find them cheap at massage schools. Take it easy and remember to lay down and rest if you can once you get one so it doesnt get worse. Good luck and COngrats!

I am in the same situation that you are now. I used to get headaches before I was preg and the only thing that worked for me was ibuprophen. While preg I switched to tylenol and it does not do anything for me. Like you I try to sleop it off. Light and noise make them even worse. If I have a bad one I will take ibuproohen now and that works for me..

I remember having such bad headaches and they wouldn't go away for anything. It got to the point where it was abnormal if I didnt have a headache. I would talk to your doctor and get him/her to perscribe some meds and in the mean time see if you can use icy hot on the back of your neck and put a warm cloth on your forehead and gets some rest.

I have the same problem. My OB-GYN prescribed me a drug called Sedapap. It helps a lot. I don't know that your doctor will do the same, but it can't hurt to ask about it. Other than that, a dark room and an ice pack on your head should help some.

I get them really bad too. Its horrible. Feels like a migrane. I take tynenol too and it doesn't help. Try putting a cold cloth on your head or over your eyes and just lie down. This sometimes hleps for me. Good luck.
