Go as a nudist then you don't have to hire a costume.

Just google fancy dress for some ideas. Some outfits are really funny buy after a short time they're too hot or restrictive. Just have some fun. A wig, some round glasses and a suit could make you Harry Potter quite easily. Del Boy is an easy one too. A fireman will make you very attractive to the ladies! Have a great time!

You need to visit a Fancy Dress shop and go as something really different and fun. A friend of mine has been a Womble, a bear and even a Christmas Tree. I think it is always better to go completely incognito and then you don't feel so self-conscious. Hiring a costume is always easier and probably cheaper in the long run. Whatever you decide the main thing it to have fun!

Does the party have a theme or is it just plain fancy dress? Check out your local fancy dress shop or for an easy outfit wear all black and paint bones on it in white, you have to face paint you re face though and go as a skeleton

Having been to many, perhaps too many, of these parties I offer the following tips.
Dont choose a costume that has a head mask... you just get hot and have to take it off spoiling the look. and will have a drinking/eating problem.
Dont choose a serious 1 eg naval officer... people think your trying to be something that your not.
Go for something funny or daft... this gets a good response and shows your up for a good time.
Hire it... unless your good at sewing/art/design and have heaps of spare time.
One last tip... get the cossy as early as poss to ensure that it fits/looks right as it is or will you need, as so often you do, have to buy some accessories'

HAVE A GREAT TIME AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR MATE
