why is it that men have more of a sense of humor than girls?

guys always seem to make more fun out of it than girls and having a sense of humor that girls don't have nearly as much of, why is this?

I am a guy and I have noticed this too.

One reason might be is the type of humor itself. Much of male humor is based on sexual connotations, twisting reality, making fun of someone, or on the expense of oneself. Girls are probably taught not to expose themselves in this way and become vulnerable. Could be that girls are vulnerable in our men's society already enough.

Another reason could be that humor is a mental excersise in which we explore the senses of other people and try to appeal to them and get the reward of laughter. Men thrive for the attention of girls, while girls are the ones who judge us through laughter and finally are the ones who decide... Probably you might find female humor following yours, rather then them roling a story just to get some humor out of it.

That is not necessarily true. It really depends on the woman. I happen to think I have a great sense of humor. I am not easily offended and find humor in all sorts of things.

I kinda disagree, but I also have a sense of humor.

"Girls" are probably socialized to be more dramatic. Boys are probably socialized to have more fun. I mean, look at the toys for girls and boys. Girls get the dolls, house-keeping toys.. the aisle that's PINK. Boys get the Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles.. whatever is popular these days.

Perhaps women are just more mature than men sometimes? Maybe you just don't know the right women. If that's what you're going for, that's another topic..

I think guys have a harder time expressing their feelings and talking about anything dealing with emotions etc. So, by joking around about stuff it makes it easier to communicate. I think a lot of guys use their great sense of humor to cover up for feeling insecure or unsure of themselves. I agree... guys do seem to be funnier than most girls.

guys tend to not care as much about what others think of them while most girls feel like they have to keep a certain body image. i myself am a girl, and frankly, i don't care what others think of me. me and my bff constantly make fun of the guys we hang out with. she usually tells stories that she saw or heard, while i just toss insults and funny comments that go with the conversation. i get my humor from mi dad, and we r always insulting each other, you might as well grab a bag of popcorn, sit down and enjoy, we can go on for hours lol. and guys don't necessarily have more humor than girls, just different. guys can joke about anything, from gross bodily functions, to what they did in class or work to tick someone off. girls tend to go for what people wear and what people do (where it hurts the most), and gossip jokes. guys dont have better humor, they just express it differently. if you watch a girl fight the insults r vicious!

For the most part, they base their opinions from pure emotion rather than logic or reason. Due to their raging hormones, they go through life in an unstable, hypersensitive state of mind which causes them to take themselves very seriously.

i dont think that guys have more of a since of humor than girls they just find somethings funnier than girls. their r certain things that girls find hilarious that guys act dumb founded about.
