Maybe you should become a student of the game. Buy yourself some b-ball books and begin to learn. You'll soon discover tons of things you do and don't do. Plus you'll begin to see the game like a point guard, not just a position player hoping to get the ball. There is a bunch of stuff out there, even on the net, about improving your shot. Something that I got that really helped me in my all around game is basketball intelligym. It is a PC training system that you can get off eBay for around $75-100. I works, but you cant miss sessions.

practice and play games. start a team or take lessons. heck join a team giving lessons.

i play basketball to and what i did is for dribbling i practiced with my non-dominate hand and when i did my dominate hand i felt alot easier

tape your self going against some one, then watch your self
pay close attention, discover why your Defense isnt stopping the lay ups...discover why you keep on loosing your handles.....etc
