If so, what song reminds you of those days? I went to a disco at a very young age (I was probably 13). I remember being so intrigued by the loud music, the lights, the dance floor and people dressed up....what I didn't realize was that people were probably high and drunk. What were the drugs & drinks of choice back then? Take me on a trip down memory lane.

I started going to discos around 74 until 80 we wore tight jeans and bowling shirts the drugs of choice was mescalin, hash and weed, cocaine was just getting started. James brown was hot Donna summer, Gloria gainer, b-52 and so many more. The music was loud, we sat in the speaker, we danced on the speaker and today I can barley hear out of my left ear. I drank beer, scotch, Singapore sling, tequila sunrise , screwdrivers, and Harvey wall-banger.

Bee Gees, Commodores, Donna Summers, there's a ton of disco music. Beer and cocktails like Screwdrivers, Tom Collins, Rum and Coke, nothing fancy. Shooters hadn't been invented yet. Drugs were pot, hash, MDA (an early Exstacy), bennies, coke - but it was pretty rare, and poppers (amyl nitrate, a two second rush and you could buy it over the counter.) I didn't like the scene but went occasionally if asked to by a chick. Before AIDS, anything else was easily cured and women had the Pill. It was, and probably will remain to be, the only time in history when sex couldn't kill you. The economy was booming so everyone had lots of money. People make fun of it, but there's been worse times

Gin and Tonics and colorful Polyester shirts, gold chain. Have cigar I think was the title of the song. And can't forget the platforms and bell bottoms. Van nuys Cruise was the best Chicks in bikinis roller skating on the side walk every Wednesday night and "My Uncles" Disco. For kids under 21.

Well, I preferred the New Wave scene, but I was known to frequent a Disco or two (or three, or...). I really didn't care what kind of music it was as long as you could dance to it and the guys were hot. There's no WAY you could get me to listen to Disco on the radio, though. Thanks for the memories.

acid and pot were prelevent, coke was really just getting going real good, in those days coke was a "designer" drug, just to do a line was a real honor and having some was a symbol of wealth and 'coolness'. i remember a disco in germany, the boom boom room, stainless steel dance floor, bare-footed stooner on the floor just standing there, wasted, wailing his arms over his head. be glad disco died, but there were a few cool songs... just a few

I was in the USMC back in the 70s and we hated disco music.
We were into more traditional rock & roll like CCR, The Doors, and so forth....
I don't even remember disco back then...
couldn't name one song...

I wore platform shoes and polyester dresses.
My hair was highlighted very blonde and curled with hot rollers.
My boyfriend wore Angels Flight pants.
The dance floor had flashing colored lights.
I drank 7&7s, smoked a lot of pot, sometimes we did mescaline which made us laugh and laugh.
