See, there's this boy at school, and I don't really know who he is. I saw him a lot at school last year, and I see him a bit sometimes this year, mostly around lunchtime, and I'd like to get to know him, except 1) I don't think he knows who I am, 2) he's a grade above me so we don't have any classes together and 3) he's rarely - if ever - by himself...he's always in a group with at least 2 people. =[ Any ideas?

I like the locker ideas...they're easy, except the problem is, I don't know where it is, and I don't think he uses it. AHAHAHA.

If you really want to get to know this boy, you'll find the courage to walk up to him & just start a casual coversation with him. Look, I went through the same thing recently & it work. Me & my now best friend are great. I wish you the best.

Yes, the networking idea is your solution. Even a big city is a small world and a school is a positively tiny world. All you need to do is ask around to find someone who knows him or knows some of the people he hangs around with. Just strike up an acquaintance with any of those people so that you can be on a 'Hello' basis - say hi! whenever you meet them in a friendly way, away from him, and then one day you will find yourself saying hi! to them while they are with him.
You will then show up on his radar screen. Whether anything else happens is hard to control.

I am in the same boat as you. I like a boy that is very popular like him and is never alone. It kind of intimidates me. So, I definitely know how you are feeling.
But me and the guy see each other all the time and he's in some of my classes and we're the same age.
But, that doesn't matter
Do you know his Myspace? If you do, send him a comment or a message if you are too scared to talk to him at school.

I have the same problem, except the person who i want to approach is a girl. I can never seem to catch her because shes always walking round with others.

well, in middle school, its hard to get ppl away from their friends, but in high school, its even harder, so maybe when hes at his locker,-if alone- approach him with ease (if it will appear-just try ur best) Strike up a conversation, then get to know him,(CAUTION: DONT LET IT BE OBVIOUS THAT YOU LIKE HIM!).
