Here is the thing.
Pro wrestling in itself is not real. There are Creative Teams designed to make the storylines, feuds, heels and faces, all that jazz. The submission moves do not usually hurt.
However, when the wrestlers bleed...it is almost always REAL. They "blade", or cut themselves with a razorblade and make themselves bleed, or they do what is called "juicing the hard way", where they are cut open unintentionally.
The hits are not always real. The chops, like the b*tch slaps, are real. When the wrestlers hit the mat, they hit the mat. As Bobby Lashley said, "The ring is not a trampoline."
So Wrestling is part fake and part real. The scars and injuries are real. The concept behind it, the storylines/feuds, are fake.
Hope that helps!

Wrestling isn't Fake. It is staged. There is a difference. People do get hurt wrestling often. They will go over the Primary moves that will happen during a match, sometimes practicing the match before the show to make sure there are no miscues. Most of the Punches and Kicks are fake. NOT always. Good example is Kennedys Running boot in the corner. He first tried it on Undertaker in a Pay Per View, and Really did drill him. And Taker got peeved off. And Ranted afterwards about it. Now Kennedy warns them ahead of time it is coming so if a mistake happens it happens. Taker was not warned. So he Did a real Uppercut on Kennedy. This sequence was not even Staged. It was real. The rest of that match went on as scripted. Most of the Time moves are softened but real. Like a Chair to the head. The hands come up to soften the Blow, plus the Chair is not going full speed all the time. Hence no blood when the chair beats off their head. Blood is usually real though it happens cause they have a razor hidden some where and they cut themselves when the Camera isn't focused on them. Sometimes it is real without them cutting themselves. Chops are one hundred percent real. You cannot fake that and they don't. It is the most painful thing they endure. High Risk Moves are Scripted but 100% Real. You cannot fake that, you can only prepare for it to hurt. Vince in Wrestlemania 22 against HBK was truly injured after that match. He spent Most of that week in the Hospital Nursing himself because of whiplash from Sweet Chin Music. He did really get drilled by it. I have looked at all the angles of the Kick. So I would say to your dad It is scripted, they know what is going to happen how it is going to happen and how to make it hurt less if at all but it ain't actually fake and that you couldn't do it even with a script infront of you.
Edit: Mistiming really hurts. During my run, My brother was supposed to hit me over the head with a steel chair. He did too. Wrong time I came up off the canvas after a sidewalk slam turned around to see the chair coming at me. No time to get my hands up to soften the blow. Can you say concussion??? I cannot remember what Happened. But the Video that was shot shows my brother Saying " Oh S***" and pinning me. He wasn't supposed to win that match. But if I did it to him I would have taken the Win too.

We get these questions all the time, 90% fake. The hits are fake like the damage, but the moves are real, the winner is scripted, and the blood is real, but the way they get bloodied is not.

Wwe is fake... The blood is fake but some of the punches are real.
I know it's fake becuase in ladder matches, when you get hit with a ladder in the face wouldn't you bleed. And if you were in a hardcore match you wouldn't recover so fast.

You people can't tell me that when someone jumps off the ring post and lands on someone that that is 100% percent fake. Yea when they hit the people that look fake but how bout when they get hit with a chair or get a bloody nose or there head starts gushing. And of course when the undertake choke slams, tombstones, or last rides somebody.

For the most part it is fake but that isn't saying that the wrestlers don't feel pain. It's kinda hard to fake a bloody nose or a black eye. So it's like an action play, in a way, but just with more violence.

It's a little of both. It's scripted and they are trained to know how and where to take a fall or a hit. But don't let that fool you some of it really hurts and they get a lot of injuries. They work hard to put out a good show and are real athletes.

well, it's scripted so the wrestlers know who is going to win before the contest.
But that said, jumping off a ladder onto another guy or a metal chair on the back can cause some real hurting.

It is a carefully choreographed show. It's very staged and totally fake. Once in a while accidents happen and someone takes a real whack, but it's a show--basically it's a soap opera for guys.

Fake! Its choreographed and they are all scripted and just portraying a "role" or an "image" based on the character given to the wrestlers and the stunts or the fights are all rehearsed and they have techniques that make it look real but its not.
