Absolutely, they usually pass them onto their flunkies as well. totally agree, the Celebs are always harping on about helping the starving, asking us to dig into our pockets but when did they ever sign over a %tage of their film rights to help the poor and needy.
they are a bunch of hypocritical freeloading shysters.

I may not agree with celebrities getting lavish gift bags when there are starving people...but the main reason behind it is money. This year, the Academy is not giving out gift bags that are anywhere near what they were in the past thanks to government regulation, however a private company is giving out bags to Oscar losers on the next day worth $70,000! Filled with a trip and a lifetime supply of Yoga pants (seriously), this shameless company is just getting it's name out and making more money.
If it were up to me, I would ask the celebrities to auction the bags off and give the money to charity...or pool all the money and buy the stupid company and shut it down.

In the past, those bags totaled about $40,000 each. Now they are going to be more modest only because the celebs found out they have to pay taxes on them. They are beyond shameless.
