I own a PS3 and this is not good news but not bad news most of us who own a PS3 still own their old PS2 so the back words cap. is really meaningless to me but i like what Sony had to say about focusing on the future of the system rather than on the past

Look here ps3 425 not worth it if you dont have a tv that runs 720p or 1080i... so my advice is wait until price cut near christmas there will be plenty more games and this ps3 will be cheaper and when its your birthday get a tv that runs 720p or 1080i (or both) for about 150-200. Spend the extra cash on what ever you want.
Eventually Microsoft will be better than Sony cause thats the way it is...
