I have a work colleague who's always going on about the amount of house work she has to do. She works part time, has a husband and no kids. She has mentioned she doesn't have friends over and I can't understand why she has so much to do. If I ask I'm afraid I will sound sarcastic.

Well some people are like that. They like to have their house spotless and they do housework more often, which results in more work being done.

On the other hand, some people are, well, lazy and every bit of work seems like moving a mountain to them.

Maybe she's trying to tell you that you can't come over to her house & is using the house work as an excuse. It could be because her husband is a control freak who won't let her have any friends. It sounds suspicious to me...

Sounds to me like she may have some form of depression. When you have depression you constantly feel like you havent done something. Likeyour work is never done and you go to bed at night feeling like you have failed to do your list of jobs for the ay. I would be sympathetic as its not a nice condition or suggest that she gets some form of help to clean the house. I have a cleaner one day per week and its helped me immensely!!!!

It sounds to me like she isn't prioritizing her time and is procrastinating housework. We live in a small, two bedroom house and I ALWAYS have a TON of stuff that needs to be done....not because there isn't enough time in the day; rather, because I can always find something other than housework to occupy my time.

some people over clean and it sounds to me that because she has no Friends or children, she over cleans the home, she may have a problem, maybe ask her to come out with the girls as it sounds as if her hole life revolves around cleaning, i was once like that?

it probably will sound sarcastic but it needs to be asked! maybe she says she's got loads of housework to explain the lack of a social life! maybe housework is the new, 'sorry, i'm washing my hair'?

im on a similar situation, but im a bit obsessive when it come to cleaning.
however, she could live in a pigsty and she is ashamed of it, or she could just want everyone to know she is houseproud.
people are strange.
