What will cause another ice age in North America? I hear that it is global warming/an increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?
Is this true??

The earth's climate goes through CYCLES. We are starting a cooler cycle. Global warming is basically junk science that "researchers" use to continually receive their government grants year after year.

Ice Age is coming no matter what! The Earth's weather patterns heat and cool in cycles. We are currently in a warming trend. We will go through a tropical era. When we reach a certain point the earth will go into another Ice Age. The effects we are causing is that we are doing this too quickly and killing off species during the warming trend which is not part of the usual cycle. The other fear is that we may bring on the Ice Age earlier than it would have happened.

No one knows what causes an ice age. The best theory is:

The sun goes through cycles of hot, warm and cool. When it gets cool(and there are no sunspots) it cools the Earth down. This causes snow and ice to form, and they reflect the suns heat back into space. And the Earth gets very cold, an ice age. Eventually the sun will warm back up, and volcano's and such re warm the Earth.

ice age is referring to a certain time just like jurassic or stone age. what you probably mean is melting ice in the north hemisphere. global warming is definetely caused by thinning of ozone layer that keeps aways harmful ray. If we just continue using environmental friendly materials it will help alot in preventing green house effect

The Earth's tilted axis factors alternately in the direction of the sunlight and removed from it as quickly as each year, so as which could have no effect. Conservation of orbital angular momentum means that we won't be able to flow measurably closer to the sunlight or farther from it, different than as quickly as a year via our orbital eccentricity, so as which could have no effect the two. Passing with the aid of a area of galactic airborne dirt and mud ought to shrink the image voltaic potential accomplishing us. some authors blame this for the main present ice a while. huge volcanic interest won't be able to influence the typical potential stability till it replaced the ambience to mirror extra image voltaic potential returned into area and lose it. The potential no longer contemplated is thru definition absorbed, so it is going to finally finally end up accomplishing the earth a approach or the different or different.

It is simple, ice ages are caused by an invasion of snowmen eating popcicles. To avoid this you must equip yourself with a flame broiled whopper junior hat and a seat cushion from a 76 volkswagen beetle and do battle with the hordes of evil doers. good luck my lad...good luck
