The only way to be absolutely sure is to head to your doctor's for a blood test. We can speculate all day about false positives/negatives.

Well from what I know, you are more likely to get a false negative, than a false positive. If you are only 2 days late, I would wait. It's usually best to wait about a week. Your hormone levels will be higher, and easier to detect. If you just can't wait that long (and I know that feeling), then make an appt with your Dr.

If you took the 1st test in the am your hcg levels are higher b/c your urine is more concentrated 1st thing in the am. If you took the 2nd test later in the day your urine may not have as much levels b/c fluids and things dilute your urine. Try to test w/ your 1st urine of the day. Happy baby thoughts to you :)
Oops I just read you took the 2nd in the am, assuming 1st urine of the day. The different brands may have different quantity values in determining a (+). Although I would think they are similar. As everyone has stated check blood hcg levels w/ your doc. They need two levels drawn 48 hours apart to make sure they at least double in that time frame. Good luck.

Without sounding like a jerk here, stop testing and wasting your money. Go to the doctors and get a test done, their tests are NO different then what we would use. However if you explain to them that you got a + and - they will be able to better further you. It is impossible to get a false positive just to let you know. So more then likely congrats!

False negatives are much more likely than a false positive. Congrats! Make an appointment to see the doc! Best of luck.
