Guten Tag...wir geht's? Get the Independent, as it's unbiased - and as a result in England...unsexy. But as for the Sun/Mirror - and even the Mail and Express, they all have their own levels of reliability - which is not great, but the papers you refer to are gossip sheets for the naive and unhinged - and to gain your attention, they will throw in CD's of Joan Collins programmes, and also of continental European languages (despite hating the people thereof), with lots of basement humour for the lower classes.

No newspaper should be treated as a totally reliable. Basically the higher the intellectual presentation the more careful they are about their facts. The small size papers (tabloids) have among their ranks some with a reading age as low as ten and do not rely on accurate and perceptive presentation of serious issues to get readers. I have found the Daily Mail particularly inaccurate on issues which I have professional knowledge of.

The Sun and the Mirror are what we call gossip rags and delight in publishing the latest scandal. They are biased along their editor and owner's agenda. I consider the paper I get (The Daily Mail) to be far superior to both and yet, when my sister was visiting last week, she was shocked at how biased the Mail is. They buy The Guardian which is a very high-brow and serious paper (but they do brilliant quizzes online). By definition - though I've never read it - the most unbiased paper must be The Independant.

Absolutely not. The tabloids are little more than a joke really. Comics for adults. Even the more well respected newspapers are untrustworthy, because all of them put their own political spin on things. In my opinion you get the most accurate and impartial news on the BBC website, but even then I don't trust it 100%.

Both tabloids that you mention have an average reading age of a 9 year old! so yeah, they're really truthful & reliable

I believe that NO tabloids can be trusted to print the truth. The ones in America go for the big 'surprise!', and if they have to invent it, they do. Tabloids are known for taking pictures that will embaras people, and they don't mind putting captions with them that are not EVEN related to the picture, or how that picture came to be.

Newspapers arn't reliable, only certain broadsheets are sometimes reliable, other than that, just go to the BBC website or watch it on the TV, its slightly more reliable... but newspapers, espeaciall tabloids are very unreliable becuase they want to lie and shock you into thinking they are goiving you the best coverage so you buy it more..

Oh! I just treat these tabloids as story books. Just a joke. They use what we call "under the bed" reporting. Of course, the story about beckham is not reliable.

If your German then don't read The Sun for sure. They have a thing against you guys, the French, and just about anyone that doesn't agree with their way of thinking. I don't know about the Daily Nirror though. If you are wanting more naked girls though you might try the Daily Sport (LOL)!
;)

Cheers,
