As long as you are still producing milk there is no problem.

It is ALWAYS safe to nurse your baby, at any age! It's safer than cow's milk, formula, Pediasure, water, or anything else you could imagine giving your baby. If your baby will take a cup, you can try giving it to him/her in a cup. If your baby hasn't ever taken a bottle, s/he probably won't take one at this point, but most one-year olds can figure out a sippy cup.
Good luck and congratulations on nursing this long! It's good to hear from a mom who knows what is healthiest for her child! Don't let anyone tell you there are no physical health benefits to nursing past the first year. Clearly there are a lot of people who have not done their research!!

Yes it is safe.
1. After a week of no nursing, you might have lost your milk (dried up), so the baby might not be able to get milk from you, or not very much. Your child will need other food too.
2. Since the child is a year old, nursing is not necessary. Children that age will nurse for comfort but not really for the milk itself.
g'luck!

Yes it is safe. My mother in law nursed her youngest son untill he was three. She didnt even pump he went straight to the breast. I thought that was kinda strange but everyone has differant reasons for doing it. I unfortunatly couldnt nurse either of my children and I wish that I could have because I know it is better for them. So I say go for it!!! Good luck to you and the little one!!

Yes your milk should still be their just not as much. You will have to either nurse or pump to get your supply back up to what your baby was eating...

Its safe to nurse your child if he/she is still wanting to nurse. Some children will not go back while others are thrilled.
IF he/she will then go for it.

Of course! Experts recommend breastfeeding for the first two years, so the longer you are able to do it the better it is for your child. Congratulations on choosing the best thing for your child!

if you are still producing milk i do not see why it would not be ok but at a year the child should be eating food. breastfeeding for more than a year seems a bit old but whatever.

It is perfectly safe, however you may find that you have started to dry up a bit.
