you have a good chance of saving the prone if you don't power it up. take out the battery and sim. if you or someone is good at taking things apart, then take the small screws out of the back and remover the covers. if you have access to an air compressor, blow it dry and then take a cotton ball and Qtips with rubbing alcohol and wipe the intrnal with it. this will remove any contaminates left after the water is gone. blow the sims out good also along with the battery. i race the very expensive radio control 1/8th scale gas cars and when the recievers get wet or any electronic component, this is what we do. your cell phone is only a fraction of what the radio gear cost and it works evrytime. a few years ago we had a money race in the rain and i did make some money that day and everything in the car was went and everything is still working to this day..........

It is important to NOT turn it on. Do as you said. If you are lucky, after it completely dries in 2 or 3 days, it might function again. If not, it is not warrantied because cell phones have a little indicator inside that tells the technician if it has been exposed to water.

yeah just leave it to dry (in an air cupboard) if possible for at least 2 or 3 days. it should still work. all electric things dry out eventually the only reason they break is if they are plugged in or powered up still wet which cause the circuit board to short circut

Yes. It may work. My daughter did the same, and hers started working after drying out for about 5 days!

the only answer I can give is try what you're suggesting - you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If the phone works after drying it out you win - if it doesn't well you half suspected that would be the outcome anyway.

try and dry it out, but water damage is the worst thing that can happen to a phone. you will probably need to buy a new one.
