I don't understand how any homosexuals can follow a God that declares homosexuality is a sin. Yes, no sin is greater than the other- so, with that said, lying or killing or whatever is supposedly equally sinful as being gay.
But sin is sin, u either do it or not. Ur either gay or straight. Honest or a liar. Killer or a saint. Without getting 2 detailed, the "rule" is that if u sin u go 2 hell, right? So, according to that, according to God, if ur gay, u go 2 hell? So, if ur gay, why do u follow this God? It's like suicide or something.

We don't know what God thinks about homosexuality and the Bible is hardly a reliable source. It was written by men. Personally, I don't think it makes any sense for God to be against homosexualtiy. I know how I feel about my sexuality and I believe that God created me the way I am.

First off if it comes out as if I'm bashing anybody it is not my intent. So now that's out of the way. Personally I don't have any problems with the gay community. I have a gay friend and I've never had a problem working with any of them. It's just their lifestyle that I don't approve of. Now before everyone starts saying that I'm wrong for thinking the way that I do just listen to my argument. I am Christian above anything else, now I'm not overly religious, but the bible does state that homosexuality is wrong. Now I have two choices 1) I can choose to follow what God says or 2) I can choose not to listen to God's word to please the homosexual community. Those who claim to be real Christians tend to go with option #1. Now I'm not saying gays are bad people, I know for a fact that I am far from perfect. Gays or just like straight folks, some good and some are bad. Its just I to go with what the Bible says.
Now if your an atheist, then obviously what God has to say means nothing to you. But for those of us you proclaim to be Christians, there's simply no excuse for you not to follow the word. I find it amazing that someone can read the word abomination and can try to justify why it doesn't mean homosexuality isn't wrong. The last time I checked that word wasn't a good thing.
I don't want it to seem like I'm just picking on gays, because there are lot of things in Bible that tells us what we shouldn't be doing. And we just try to change the words up to justify our actions. Everybody wants to believe in the Bible, until they see something the speaks of they are currently do. The right thing to do would be to stop what your doing, but people would rather change the meaning and then spread the lie, which confuses everyone. If that's the case your better off disregarding the Bible all together.
For the record God doesn't hate gays, he actually loves them. Just not the lifestyle because its a sin. So therefore all I can do is love the person, but not the sin. So I must ask everyone, if you feel the Bible has been manipulated then why bother following it at all? Christian beliefs come from the Bible. If I stopped believing in the Bible, what would be a point to be a Christian. How would we actually know what God wants from us us.

I have some very close gay friends that are very religious. One of them is pastor of a small church, the other is song leader of the same church. God may or may not like everything that we do in our lives, but He loves everyone just the same. It's what we feel in our hearts and how we worship Him that really counts. If you stop and think really hard, everyone is a sinner every day of our lives. Why would God not like gays any less than any other sinner? Is it any less of a sin to kill a person or to kidnap a child or molest a child or rape someone than it is go be gay?

Who says being gay is a sin? Did God come right into your house and tell you that face to face? Hatred and Bigotry is the biggest sin ever! Just as long as people get on with their daily lives without hurting anyone else, then they should be able to follow God. If God himself doesn't think that, then I truly believe there isn't one!

I want to know, how can the fiercely religious be anti-gay? Much of the bible is about love and tolerance.
Being gay is not a sin. Practicing is, but so is mixing fabrics (it's in the same chapter). Have you ever worn wool and cotton? Bad person. Go to hell, do not pass limbo, do not collect wings and a halo.
And if you stone your child for being disrespectful, don't worry. The bible says it's OK.

We can be religious because God created and loves us all. it's become more than tiresome reading the same biased questions dozens of times a day. why do people "use" religion to justify bigotry? Isn't passing judgment on others and preaching hatred and intolerance a sin? Why don't you try reading your Bible more. The Bible was written by man, not God. and it's been translated and re-translated and quoted out of text so much to justify bigotry (against anyone, not just gays) it's ridiculous!

You forget to take into account Valid interpretations of your religious text that infer homosexuality itself was not "sin", it was male prostitution, intolerance and hostility for travelers, among other things. So, until you can actually prove that "Your" personal interpretation is correct, you don't have an argument. More than that, attempting to state and judge that another is not living up to the supposed Biblical edicts id called "Casting the first Stone", I do believe that is also a big no-no, how do you continue to call yourself a Christian when you openly ignore the words of the one that you call Christ?

Because we don't believe everything that was said in a book written a billion years ago by people who weren't God. So until you can get me a quote straight from God--no middle man--that says I'm going to hell, I'll continue to know that as long as I'm honest, happy, and have the capacity to love, I'll be going to heaven.
My God is about love. Too bad yours isn't.

What makes you think God has declared homosexuality a sin? Is it because you listen to a bunch of hate filled imbeciles who interpret scriptures to support their own rotten souls?
I am not religious, but I know many gay people who are. They believe in God and not the rubbish religious nutjobs who claim to speak for God.
It's obvious who you believe and it's an indication of your character.

Well most people were told when they were young that god loves EVERYONE. Regardless of race, or orientation. God does not hate his children even if they are gay. I support gay people to the fullest, and it is their choice to be involved in religion. Like I said God doesn't hate them for being gay.
Religious people say that they follow gods word and live the bible to the fullest. However I have heard religious people say that they hate gay people.
