That would moslt be dependednt on the case you have chosen. diffrent case types can require diffrent boards...

standard type right now is the ATX style board....mostly in towers

then theres the new BTX style. BTX is a new design that reaaranged all the components so tyhat there would ber only 1 or 2 fans in it basicly....

i would start with the board.

First of all, you need to know a lot about hardware and software to be able to pull this one off. I suggest staying away from building your own system if you are completely new to this. Simple novice mistake, can fry your processor like the Foreman grill and you will end up paying much more than you originally intended to. You would be much better getting yourself a Dell, or an HP and than just modifying the video cards. If you are a gamer, make sure to verify that the motherboard that comes with the PC is SLi/Crossfire enabled, that means that you can double up your video cards. Also, don't forget about the power supply, try to get as high wattage as possible, for dual video cards, 650W should be ok. Of course, I also suggest getting high end memory, cooling and a good power supply. Check out these guys http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/

You can overclock your PC like crazy after the modifications, great for extending the product life.

If you have money to spend, go with Vodoo PC or Alienware - simply WOW. Google their names...
