Here's the deal. I am considering offering a friend my services to help clean his house. He is single taking care of 2 children by himself so I know his money is tight. It is a 3 bdr/ 2 bth home. I would be doing both bathrooms, kitchen/dining area, vacuum carpets & clean wood floors (kth/din), living room. I would also be doing misc. cleaning & dusting as need such as walls, windows etc. I was thinking of either once a week or bi-weekly & would like to just charge him a flat rate. If you're asking "How cleaning is this house to begin with?" just think average single man who works full time w/ 2 young kids.

I would base it on a per hour rate. How much is your time worth? This way, he shouldn't let you work longer than he can afford to pay you for. With a flat rate fee, you may ave issues with them cleaning up after themselves less and less, since your job will be to clean.

I am in the cleaning business, We go by square footage.
Smaller 1 or 2 story 3 bed 2 bath = charge $70.00
Large = charge $10 - $20.00 more.
Do not clean for nothing…remember you are not a slave…Don't ever sell yourself short.
Some people allow you to use their equipment…for starting out, this will help you out on start up costs…however, you need to make it a goal of your business to get your own vaccum etc. (If theirs breaks, guess who will be replacing it…that’s right You….so get your own as soon as you can.
Quote assuming you will use your own supplies?"
Give discounts for customers who allow you to clean regularly (weekly or Bi-weekly)
However, you got cheap skates who want to let their house get caked with dust and grim – them want the same rate to clean it all up….don’t do it – charge hourly rate of $20.00.
As far as supplies, here are our sources
We clean ALL mirrors and windows with this cloth from this web-site www.EazeeClean.com for only $3 bucks each.
(basically any surface you need no smudges or streaks such as drying dishes…{wiping more than once is a waste of your time}) This cloth works just as good sopping wet as it does dry with same results.
This is the cheapest I have found these towels. They are at other web-sites but they charge double…this guy gets them wholesale form the supplier.
We use 409 on counter tops, Magic eraser (must have)…
OUR ROUTINE:
1 bathroom done in detail takes 45 min
Kitchen takes 45 hour
Vac/sweep/dusting 1 hour
Laundry/misc. 1 hour

Strip beds/washing
Bathrooms first
Kitchen
Windows (use the cloths from www.EazeeClean.com
Vac/mats/floors etc
Wash/wax/polish
Maximize your time - In between do folding & make beds
Do floors last

For a first full clean I would charge $125 after that it would be $75 for weekly cleanings $100 for bi-weekly cleanings. Windows...$3 per window.

First figure out how much time it's going to take you. You should average between 12 and 15 dollars an hour. That is the going rate in m city.
