No. Before the development of money, there was a barter system. Just as now, the weak had the worst deals and the strong got what they wanted.

Unlikely. Just as with the problems of complete capitalism or communism, the greedy and/or the lazy spoil the system. It need not be money - rather, it could be the corn someone doesn't want to share, or the milk, etc. The problems, and examples, are seemingly endless.
