$7.6 MILLION for Alexi Yashin what the ????????? This guy was highly touted, but his career just didn't live up. Does this guy even try when other side has the puck ? +/- -80 for his career.
Finally when it comes to the playoffs he's AWOL.

I think he asked for overrated not over paid. Everyone knows Yashin is a stiff, Blake is just old (re:hockey age).
Overrated would have to be Martin Brodeur. The man has 4 Defencemen at all times and everyone is saying he's the best, hardly. Any starting goalie in the NHL including good back ups can put the same number as Brodeur.
And now he is going to breack Sawchucks record even though Sawchuk had to face 40 shots per game, small equipment, odd man rushes, while Brodeur faces 20 shots with the majority coming from the premeter.
Is Brodeur a good goalie. Yeah but remember when NHL came back the teams were playing trap were struggling, Brodeur had like a 3.00 GAA.

Yashin and Theodore while over-payed, I don't know if anyone is hyping them as good though. Ovechkin does make sense. I would like to see at least a full season of Jordan Staal before he is so widely hyped. Don Cherry propaganda. The kid is good but come on. Richards has produced, he needs linemates and is having an off year.
My pick would probably be Jagr (disappears alot) and Forsberg (the guy just doesn't have "it" anymore) Past players I thought were Lindros (The Next One) and Pavel Bure (cherry picker-try going back into your own zone)
Kipprusoff and Luongo, though very good, I find that they get too much credit. Samsonov is a huge underachiever, as is Kovelev. Brodeur, Iginla and Ryan Smyth are probably under appreciated.

The most overrated player in the NHL eh, great question. There are a tonne of guys who fit this profile. I would say one of the most overated players is alexie kovalev. Granted he is a immensely talented player but when has he really done anything of note?? He scores some great goals but he quits on his team more often then not. Remember the playoff game against the Bruins years ago when he got a lil slash on the hands and cost his team the game by just flopping to the ice.

Ovechkin don't get me wrong he is good but not as good as they make him out to be. The NHL is looking for a new poster child since they really haven't had one since Gretzky retired. The NHL has been focusing on two players Crosby and Ovechkin wondering witch one will take the role. Well just my opinion but Ovechkin just doesn't performe or put on a show that's gonna attract a crowd.

Ovechkin is overrated??? It is not even funny. He is an absolutely exciting young player with a great future. He, The Kid, Malkin, Kopitar and several other guys are THE FUTURE of hockey.
Fedorov and Blake are overrated?? They both were great players. Now they are not young but we should give them a lot of respect.
Sometimes people write a real trash.

Sean Avery... He is okay but he gets a lot of press because he shoots his mouth off. I know he gets under the skins of other teams but he rarely gets any production out of this... he just gets the gate. I actually think he inspires the other team to be better in games he is in.
