Ok so I just installed the newest java update, security update, and something else I dont remember for my Apple power PC G4 by selecting software update, when I came back to my computer (this was last night) my screen was black and unresponsive and I couldnt log in.. so I restarted and it will start up till the blue bar is full and then freeze every time..I think it might have something to do with the fact that a friend of mine wanted me to install world of warcraft and I cant eject the disc now so if it is that I have no way to get it out..
So my questions are: has this ever happened to you? How do you force the disc drive open? and does this have anything to do with the installations I just made?

1.) somewhat yes, on a spare computer, the C drive somehow lost it's OS (still clueless about that one) and we can't boot it up. haven't tried to fix it though, sorry!

2.) There should be a little hole somewhere on the CD drive. straighten a paperclip out, and push it in there, this would force the CD drive open (don't worry, this does no damage, it's actually meant as a safety precaution) from there, you should be able to grip it and pull it open, then take the CD out.

3.) maybe.when you boot up, keep pressing F8 until you get a little menu, then using the arrow keys, select "Safe Mode", then scan your computer with any and all anti-viruses you have (the colors are going to be way off, but don't worry, this isn't permanent (Safe Mode does this for some reason). After you run your anti-virus programs and clean out your computer, try restarting into normal mode.

Hope this helps!

Near your dvd drive should be a pinhole. Find it. Then find a paperclip and straighten out. Insert paperclip into hole, this will eject the disc out of the drive without any force on the drive. That pinhole is a manual ejection setup.

As far as your computer try to bring it up in safe mode and go back in time to restore it before the freeze up.

It seems like it did not install correctly. I would suggest rebooting your computer. try and get that disc try to open. I see no reason the World of Warcraft installation had anything to do with it. Perhaps it was that Java update? My computer is telling me to update my Java, but after reading your situation....uumm yeah I think I have second thoughts now.

Try to do a restore to before it went stupid. This should solve your problem. Fiddle with the disk, it is probably just jammed some how. Press the button a bunch of times, but be gentle. Sometimes it just takes a little fiddling to get it to go.
