It said it was based on true events, how much of it was true and how accurate was it compared to what actually happened?

It's just that when things are based on true events, they change things and miss large parts out, also it is based on a book, and films that originate from books are changed even more... just wondering if there were parts that were completly changed just to make the film 'comfortable'

It's totally true, and the problem was under estimating the enemy. First of all they had no idea they had an enemy when they were there to unload food supplies for the starving. There was only 250 troops that went into the city to capture a insurgent, and they got pinned down and fired upon by RPG's....

Black Hawk Down, a movie based on the true events of a nearly disastrous 1993 mission in Somalia, should receive credit for taking such a long and complicated story and condensing it into 152 minute film. Of course, it can't show everything from the book but yes, it was a very realistic film. Sure, it was glamorized a bit, but the true elements of the film were realistic.

if you watch the film,you get the sense that the americans were there fighting the humanitarian fight.the reality however was that they were stealing oil,well that is what they usually do anyway
