I bought a 40in XBR Sony last night and I noticed a couple of really tiny green pixel in black screen when no input. You can only see it when you're really really close. Should i be worried and have it exchanged or is this normal?

it's not normal. I would take it back for another one. Nothing should be stuck on your screen, ever.

It is bad. I've had a 40in XBR Sony for like 2 weeks and I don't have any tiny green pixels. You should exchange it immediately!

What you're seeing is termed dead pixels by the manufactures it just turns out that LCD screens are so expensive to make that the cost would go through the roof if the makers scrapped every screen with a dead pixel if my memory serves me correctly the makers allow up to three dead pixels per screen it's just unlucky if yours are in the middle of the screen so the answer you question yes it is normal to have dead pixels but if you're worried you can put your mind to rest by having a word with you supplier

Most shops or company refund or exchange if they have dead pixels like your saying and in my opinion you must because it ain't gonna give you better image quality or later might even get worse so my best opinion is just go and ask for exchange.

CHEERS!!
