Faced the same question myself a couple of years ago. I preferred the look of the Scenic, but the Picasso has a lot more space inside - we test drove both with 3 adults in the back and the Picasso was much more roomy. I haven't seen the new style Scenic inside, but it appears smaller.

We went for the Picasso (Diesel engine) and have been very impressed - no faults whatsoever in three years. In fact, although I was originally nervous about buying a Citroen, I was so impressed that we have just replaced our second car with a C3.

Don't listen to the badge snobs. French Diesel engines in particular are very well regarded (I believe Citroen make diesel engines for BMW too) and I certainly have no complaints about Citroen.

(don't get me started on Vauxhall's though!!!)

relies upon what you prefer it for. Picasso is extra roomy - 3 can sit down in the decrease back incredibly comfortably (the Scenic is extra like a saloon in that admire) and has huge boot area. you additionally can eliminate/replace each and every of the decrease back seats in some minute, which provides extra room that various trucks. It replaced into for the rear seat area that I chosen a Picasso over a Scenic 4 years in the past. That mentioned, the Picasso is amazingly diverse and a few human beings do no longer basically like the type. and of path, you will could take care of badge snobs who do in comparison to Citroen's, or do in comparison to various French vehicles. those are many times human beings who prefer to pay over the opportunities for German issues (the irony being that particular German manufacturers use Citroen diesel engines!!). in case you pick for a Picasso, the two.0 Diesel Engine is your terrific guess. it incredibly is incredibly physically powerful (as French Diesels tend to be) and, in my own adventure, very stable.

No French cars are renowned for excellent reliability, but the safest bet is the Scenic. The Scenic is also the better all-round car.
