Well it depends I don't really know your skin type. I used to get pimples all the time, while I was using Clinique's line of facial cleansers and moisturizers. So I have recently switched to Dove's facial cleanser (you can buy it at drug stores like CVS, Walgreen's, or Long's drug store) and it really works. In fact I had some bumps along with the pimples and as soon as I used it like a minute later the bumps were gone. About two days later my face was clear! You should use it before you go to bed every night and some days it the morning. I also use Dove's facial lotion it is called energy glow and it has an SPF and gives your skin a slight glow (kind of like a tan but not really) while it moisturizes your skin I use this every night and morning. Give Dove a shot I'm sure you will not be dissatisfied.

Acne comes from bacteria. The cleaner the face is, the less you will have problems. Oils on the face produce dirt, clog the pores and so acne is born. My brothers all had acne when they were younger (Proactiv not available then) and what worked for them was to clean the face morning, afternoon and night with an astringent or special acne soap. It helps reduce the amount of dirt and bacteria buildup. It only takes a few minutes each time as well. You need to be regimented in the routine to see progress. These days, Proactiv seems to be the solution though. Hope this helps.

I really never have had pimples before but my friends have and here is what they said works really well.
If it is really red I know this sounds weird but put Preparation H on it and it takes the redness away. Put mint toothpaste on it, let it set overnight. Or put lemon juice on it. Clearasil Ultra Acne Clearing Scrub. it is only about $6.00. Really cheap stuff that works.
Some people have said ProActive works but my friend used it and it made her skin break out and gave her a rash. It was nasty.

i advice you use marykay acne treatment gel for your face. i used it and it worked. but your daily routine for ur face should start from cleaning with marykay deep cleanser, then tone with marykay blemish toner and apply marykay oil control lotion. then the acne treatment gel. you will see that within 3 days ur face will be clear.
