Many of them feel they could get by in modern day America without oil. They ignore what petroleum products do for them and how it supports their current way of life...What a bunch of simple minded fools.......I love it... Don`t you ? Silly liberals......

I really don't think you know what you are talking about, gasoline is the trash off of oil. The best oils we have now are synthetics. The biggest percentage of oil is made into plastic products. Then the very last amount of sludge is called roofing tar. Simple minded is the people who cannot look to the future when the resource they are using in not renewable and there is only so much for the whole world. If was up to people like you we would still be living in caves. Evolution is the future who ever develops the best alternative fuel will control the technology for this century . Unless you simple minded Conservatives want to go back to riding horses, which buy the way your party is looking up to the rear of donkey after these last elections.

I don't know a single person, regardless of political affiliation, that thinks America is fine without oil.
One day, America will have new technologies, and we won't need oil. Until then, we are dependent on oil....and we got plenty of it in the gound in the USA!!!

My father was an independent oil producer here in Texas. He stacked his rigs in 1961 because, he said, the US government had placed taxes so high on the American producers that he could no longer make a profit. He was a Republican.
Now you know why I am a Democrat.

And when will conservatives realise that oil doesn't grow on trees - it's going to run out, and it's going to run out soon. Would you rather society collapsed when every last oilfield runs dry, or would you rather people work on ways to get along without oil?
