Not all conservatives ARE Christians! The Ayatollah and mullahs of Iran are conservatives. The Emperor of Japan is a conservative. Members of the Likud party (in Israel) are conservatives....etc.

It's not clear to me whether you're referring to religious conservatives or political conservatives, but I'm a member of both camps so I'll answer about both.

Many non-Christians are political conservatives, so yes, of course political conservatives don't expect everybody to be Christian. For example, Dennis Praeger and Michael Medved are both Jewish, but they are political conservatives.

Conservative Christians would like everyone else to share their beliefs, but those who are realistic realize that that will not happen. Most conservative Christians are trying to reach out to Jews and reconcile past hostility, but Jews are understandably suspicious of conservative Christians.

As for myself, my best friend ever and several girlfriends have been Jewish, and I've had Hindu, Buddhist (although he was from a Christian background), and Muslim friends and room-mates, and their religions were never a big issue. I also get along with atheists, and I was one myself, once. The only people I've had issues with have been Pagans (Wiccans, Satanists, Druids, etc.) because their religion isn't just different than mine, but in so many cases it is the complete opposite of mine, and they love to post anti-Christian propaganda on the Internet.

It appears to me there is a lot more trouble for many people to accept Christians than the other way around.

Not really!!! Any way That question is like talking about Hitler & his so called master race. I am a conservative my self. I love Democarcy. I feel that everyone should have a freedom of speech & religion, and expression. No Conservatives should think that everyone should be Chrishtians because thats like saying that you want to create a master race, a Communist or a Dictatorship Gov't. Now SOME Musliums on the other hand feel that everyone should be Muslium. But I hope that every conservative should find a way to make peace instead of going on witch hunt like bush did to capture one man that had nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction and 9/11 bombings. Every Conservitve should except a person with a diff. reliogous background.

Our founding fathers were mostly Christian and in some letters written between the signers of the constitution said that these rules will only work if applied by christian people to people who share christian values. America is free to worship or not anyway you want but certain morals and values have to be applied nation wide. I am a christian and I wish that every one would be it is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I do respect any other belief you have as long as you respect life, respect ownership and respect yourself. We can work on the rest.

No, conservatives do not feel that all people must be Christians.
Not all conservatives are Christian, and not all Christians are conservatives.
I myself am a Christian. Socially I'm just barely right of center, while fiscally I'm barely left of center. I respect EVERYONE'S beliefs, regardless of what they are.

Should be, yes. Must be, no.

Actually, conservative are more tollerant than liberals. Try talking about being pro life at the Democrat National Convention. But first make out your last will and testament.

I'm a conservative and I'm an Agnostic so don't give me that liberal BS about conservatives. You're just spouting the BS that some other idiot has told you. When will the liberals use the brain the they were born with?

Is there anyone else here who understands that Conservatism has NOTHING to do with being a Christian, Buddist or Moonie? It is about your political befiefs and views. CAN WE ALL WAKE UP?
