It may seem that way right now because American Idol gets so much hype. However, the reality is that barely 10% of the nation even watches American Idol. Far more people vote in presidential elections than tune in to American Idol. Americans can be superficial at times, but not THAT superficial.

No way! We have many distractions in life in America. American Idol is no different than the millions of fans that play golf each week or go to a football game etc... Don't be fooled by the media machine. I'd bet the participation on A.I. is a whole lot of the same kids on repeat dial. Look at the polls look at the mid term election results there you'll find your answer. That's where you'll find your facts.

While it seems to be true, most people have no idea who is on American Idol. Everyone knows who is running for president by election time. But I think the gap is narrowing with time.

That may be true for anyone under 30. For the rest of us, we care a great deal about who will be the next president and will make sure he is not named Bush, related to Bush, or even a friend to Bush! We have had enough.

First of all, that is an opinion, not a fact. Second of all, you can't clump all Americans together. And if you actually think about it, Most people that are replying yes pobably watch it themselves. I know a LOT of people who don't even know what American Idol is, much less care who wins.

A "fact" cannot be argued whether it is true or false.
FACT- The sky is blue
FACT- Most birds can fly
FACT- Approximately X number of people voted in the last presidential election, and Y number of people voted for the finale of American Idol.
Look up X and Y and you have a fact.

It is true because there is not conscience about the great danger US has by the many mistakes made for our president. Lets help the noble people of America to have an awakening about this fact. Lets invite every body to increase its capacity of awakening. In a humble way I suggest to send as a gift the book: "AWARENESS, The Meaning of Life" edited in NY, NY by VANTAGE PRESS, which one is complete and free of charge in the below source. Please resend this mail if you like it, with the motto: "Lets become to be genuinely Sincere, Grateful and Respectful with The One Who Gave us Life, with Mother Nature and with ourselves" It is accepted by Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Christians and all cultures, my friend
