I think that's the closest I have ever come to literally crapping my pants. I managed to get pulled over without incident, and called one of my neighbors, who came and looked at it. Turns out the screws holding the column in were loose, and when I turned, they just gave up and fell out.....
I have GOT to stop using those mechanics that work for beer.....

I've never had that happen. The worst I have experienced was meeting a mack truck on the highway & just as we passed my hood flew open.
Once I turned on the heater and a mouse jumped out of the defroster duct, ran across the dash & bailed off right into my lap. Luckily no one was in the oncoming lane...

That hasn't happened to me, but I was driving along a motorway one day, doing the average speed of 70 to 80 mph, the bonnet of my car came up. I couldn't see a thing! My poor Mother sitting next to me, came very near to crapping in her pants. I can tell you!

Did the noise take place basically once you first began the vehicle and flow away as quickly as you had pushed a pair of miles? if so, I even have that concern, and this is no longer something to fret approximately. notwithstanding, i could take the vehicle to a mechanic for a brake inspection formerly you head back around the state. greater valuable secure than sorry.
