My room mate snores incredibly loud. The snoring usually comes in two bouts. One at midnight if he is asleep then, and one at 4 in the morning and it continues until he wakes up. On average I get 4-5 hours of sleep a night. He is very defensive and angry. When I confronted him about it before he told me to shut the f*ck up about it and he will turn it around saying I am just a p*ssy for not ignoring it and that I go to sleep too early. I talked to my RA about it and basically I am stuck with him unless a miracle happens. I need some kind of effective strategy to wake him up when it starts so i can get back to sleep without him knowing it was me. This is what I have been doing and when I can wake him up it works if only temporarily but the key is that he cannot know it was me. Has anyone else had an experience like this? My social life, my grades, and my demeanor have changed. The school is not letting me switch. I need some support and ideas to change this situation.

Ways to control snoring which he can follow.Avoid drinking alcohol, eating heavy meals at least 4 hours before going to sleep. Nasal passages can be kept clear using a humidifier, inhaling steam, nasal strips and nasal sprays. A continuous positive airways pressure (CPAP) machine may also help, but it is available only on prescription.More remedies

This happened to me.

You need to go to the student health center and talk to a psychologist and tell him/her about how this situation is destroying your mental health. Then the psychologist will get you a letter so that you can change rooms.

It will be a bit of work but it will be worth it in the long run.
