It is likely the bolts that hold your balljoints on are rusted. So grind the bolts off and use a hammer and knock them out. Use a emerycloth of a high grit and lightly clean the holes out where the balljoints go. Install new ones. Make sure the truck is supported on jack stands . This will keep you safe asyou are hammering on the ball joints. You will also have to disconnect the barake caliper and remove the rotor so you don't damage them.

the place to start is considering a safety issue. If you do the work yourself be prepared for some lost skin. Some auto parts stores offer the tools you will need on a rental basis. There are info books that will walk you through the necessary steps to complete the project. SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY! ! !
Yours while you are working on the vehicle
Others when you are done and driving down the highway

If you have not done them before,or you are not set up to do a heavy job like that then take it to shop. It can be a very frustrating job if you do not have the proper tools. And putting them in wrong will be very costly.
