I bought a new lexmark x1200 printer. It comes with print, fax, photocopy and scanning.

My problem is windows always detects the printer and install the driver automatically. When i use the driver from the CD provided, i cannot install additional features like scanning and photocopy. I tried installing the driver on my other laptop and it works fine because my laptop windows asked me if i wanted to auto/manual search for the driver and i canceled. I used the CD provided and it worked fine.

How do i turn off the automatic hardware/driver detection on Windows? I am running on Windows XP Sp1

Yes - I like to decide myself when my system will be slowed down by updates going on.
