A sitemap is a "story board" or map of the site you are looking at. Of course because you are looking at a site instead of a location on earth, the maps look different. If you are looking for a specific part of the site, usually the site map helps. If you are looking at a site that doesn't have a search feature, you can use the site map. The sitemap lists all the other parts of the site.
