My brother's wife (soon to be ex-wife) is not on the deed to his house and she hasn't lived there for 6 months or so. However she has filed a protection order against him and is trying to have him removed from the house(that does not belong to her). I can assure you there is no need for the protection order for he has never layed a hand on her or their son. she's just trying to hurt him in every way possible. What I want to know is are there any lawyers in the Columbus ohio area that can help with this issue? and if so what are there websites and phone numbers? I already looked online and in the phonebook and haven't found anything helpful. Just looking for a little help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Doesn't your brother have a divorce attorney? If he's getting a divorce, he MUST have one. Surely they have divorce attorneys in the Columbus area! And if so, why aren't they doing anything about this? If not, any divorce lawyer can handle this, but get one who means business and is serious about men's/father's rights. His wife is harassing him with a groundless protection order. He should retaliate legally as soon and as strongly as possible.

You can't find a divorce lawyer in the yellow pages? Come on, any city the size of Columbus has plenty of good divorce lawyers. That is a specialty that is everywhere.

Unfortunately i dont have any of the info that ur requesting...

But im amazed that she's going to such horrible lengths, because she didnt need to.. if the house was bought during their marriage whether her name was on the deed or not, it still legally half hers..and he will either have to sell it and split any profits from it with her, or she will have to either buy him out of his share of the house, or he will have to buy her out of her share to keep the house, what she is doing is horrible.. and i hope your brother can prove his innocence of this crime, so the court can see how underhanded she is..

chances are she is thinking she can get the home, if her name is not on it, she may have no claim to the home. if her name is not there she is not entitled to the home. she can claim she put money into it, and maybe he would have to pay her something, but she will not be able to get his home at least that is the way it is in Florida anyway, i would get the best attorney i could find to be ready for her when she shows up in court.
