First of all, I don’t think that ‘happiness is eternal.’
This is to mean that happiness is a momentary feeling and I think it’s wrong to expect any happy time to last indefinitely.
Is it not true that we can feel happiness because a happy time comes to us rather unexpectedly? I believe what one considers happiness depends on the state of one’s mind. For example, kindness shown by a stranger, warm smiles on a friend’s face, an affectionate word from someone you love and so on. These can all give you a happy feeling.
On the other hand, when you are depressed, or your heart is not pure, the same things may not give you any sense of happiness.
In my case, I have various occasions on a daily basis in which I feel happy. Some such occasions include when I talk with my friends without noticing the lapse of time, when I listen to my favorite music, when I am deeply moved by reading a good book, or when I watch a great film and so on.
There is a tendency to regard happiness as material wealth or money. In this case, however, I feel those who have such a tendency are by no means happy. Fortunately, I am not such a person who tends to measure happiness on such a scale.
I believe there are many ways to obtain a true sense of satisfaction and a feeling of accomplishment in one’s life. Surely, the point is in the attitude to try to seek one’s happiness not on someone else’s scale but on one’s own scale.
The other thing I would like to mention is that happiness for merely oneself is not true happiness, since a human is a social being. One can feel happy in the course of making others happy.
In conclusion, happiness is not a given result but a relative feeling which one can have in one’s life. In this sense, I believe, in the course of pursuing happiness that I mentioned above, you can make a happy life.

The only thing that I can think of is to live a life of moderation ,free of stress related problems, to be able to work into a healthy environment and breath fresh air, all of these things would keep us going for a very long time! How long it all depends on the destiny , let's face it !any age is always too early to die! So I rather be surprised when!

rather it's not about eating healthily, but doing and taking things in moderation as others have stated here already. and it's not about being healthy from a physical aspect, but also spiritually, emotionally and mentally as well. you can look great on the outside and look attractive but if you're screwed up in the head or your mental and emotional state is not functioning as well as it should, then that's not a good thing. a long, happy life doesn't have a number or figure attached to it; it's not just about exercising but feeling good about yourself and how your life is turning out. of course, there will be problems which will always arise every so often, but the key to maintaining a long life is constantly surviving, overcoming hurdles, to keep working hard to the best of your ability, feeling good, avoiding drugs and getting into all sorts of crap. as for how long that should be, it should be as long as one wants to be and whether he or she feels that life is worth living for themselves

You are what you think so think happy things. If you sit on a park bench, you can be rich or poor depending only on your thoughts. I think 80 is a good age where your body is still OK but I expect when I get there I will be saying 90

A long life, and a happy life do not necessarily go hand in hand.
However, my short answer to your question would be: A GOOD WIFE.

Everything in moderation! I think for each of us, what we achieve/do in life happens in different ways. Some can have had a very full life by 60, others not, so I guess it varies. I would like to go beyond 60...but not too far!

I would save living in moderation. Also, being thankful for what you have and not wanting what everyone has. Being yourself and being true to yourself. Being kind and considerate of your fellow man (or woman)! :) I think you must surround yourself with people that you love and who love you back.
It may be different for different people. Good luck in finding the right path for your long, happy life!! :)
